I have been testing yellowjacket traps for many years now. Every trap I've seen are meant to be hung in your yard. They all have an attractant that is supposed to lure yellowjackets to the trap.
There are many problems with these traps. First of all, who wants to attract more yellowjackets to your property? There are a few hanging traps that work fairly well. I do recommend them for Amusement Parks or places where there are large populations of people. The average homeowner often buys a trap because they have a nest on their property. They buy the trap hoping that it will reduce the population. These traps do not work. They may catch few yellowjackets, but there are hundreds, if not thousands in the nest. And the unsuspecting homeowner does not yellowjacket varieties. They see a yellowjacket in the trap and they think it is helping with the nest.
I know yellowjacket varieties. When I check the nest they have and the captured yellowjackets in the trap, they never are from the nest. The lure attracted a totally different yellowjacket variety. The unsuspecting and trusting homeowner is fooled into thinking the trap worked.
My Better YellowJacket Trap is designed for people who have a nest and can see where they are coming and going. I discovered the "holy grail" of yellowjacket trap science. Companies are spending millions of dollars
trying to discover the lure that will attract them. I've discovered it. The answer is sitting under their noses. Yellowjackets always go back to their nest.
My Better YellowJacket Trap goes on the end of a shop vac. You place the nozzle near, not over, the entrance. When you turn on the vacuum, the yellowjackets are sucked into the trap. It's as simple as that. Some people have used their shop vac without a trap. That is gross. Thousands of yellowjackets crawling and rotting in your vac? No thank you. To kill the yellowjackets in my Trap, you leave them in the sun for a few minutes or put them in a freezer.
A Setup suit comes with the trap. The Suit is not design to protect you during the day from a large and angry yellowjacket nest. You do the setup at night or very early in the morning before they are flying.
My Better YellowJacket Trap is reusable and should last you a lifetime of organic yellowjacket removal. (go back to home page)
